Keepmoat begins work on £15m Newcastle housing development

Housebuilder Keepmoat has begun work on a new development in West Denton which will introduce 95 new homes to the area.

Working in partnership with Newcastle City Council and Leazes Homes, the scheme will see derelict land at Dunblane Crescent redeveloped into two, three and four bedroom apartments, houses and bungalows.

Additionally the development will include three five bedroom apartments with communal facilities for people with learning disabilities or autism.

Richard Bass, regional managing director for Keepmoat in the North East, said: “The core of our business model is to seek out brownfield sites or unused land; then create a tailored approach to investing in those areas, by identifying exactly what is required for residents.

“As well as supported accommodation for people with learning disabilities and autism; we will be offering a varied mix of attractive new homes that will cater for renters and first time buyers; right through to expanding families looking for that forever home. This will provide real solutions for Newcastle residents at all ends of the property ladder.

“As with all of our projects in the area, we will also be looking to employ a local workforce, while ensuring we provide apprenticeship and training opportunities for local people.

“We truly believe that Dunblane Crescent will be an exemplar of how partnership working can make a real difference to local communities beyond the provision of new homes”

“Newcastle is a diverse city and by working in partnership with Keepmoat and Leazes Homes this site will offer a range of housing options, including supported accommodation that will help meet the diverse needs of Newcastle’s residents”
