L-R: RMG MD Giles Hampson, Enterprise Ventures' Chris Pestell and RMG founder Andrew Evans

Cheshire's Recruitment Management Group undergoes Enterprise Ventures-backed MBO

A recruitment business in Cheshire has changed hands following a management buyout.

Daresbury-based Recruitment Management Group (RMG) has been taken over by Giles Hampson, who acquired the shares of founder Andrew Evans with debt funding provided by Enterprise Ventures SME Loans.

Following the transaction, Andrew will remain at the company in the role of non-executive director.

RMG employs a team of 11 and focuses on search and selection for organisations in the chemicals, renewables and healthcare sectors. To date, the firm has completed campaigns in 26 countries, including China and India.

Managing director Giles, who joined the firm 10 years ago as a graduate, said: “This deal allows RMG to remain in independent ownership and continue the great work carried out by Andrew since our inception in the mid-90s, whilst also providing continuity and stability for our staff and client base.

“The increased appetite for investment and growth in the specialist sectors of healthcare and chemicals in which we work makes me very confident of a long and successful future for RMG.”

Enterprise Ventures, part of Mercia Technologies, was the sole external finance provider.

Enterprise Ventures investment director Chris Pestell commented: “RMG has built an enviable reputation and a loyal customer base in its key sectors, and is in a strong position to capitalise on future opportunities, including the continued growth in healthcare and renewables.

“During his 10 years with the business, Giles has demonstrated exceptional management and leadership skills and is ideally placed to help drive it forward.”
