International engineering firm Black & Veatch exchanges at Chester’s One City Place
Engineering, procurement and construction services firm Black & Veatch is moving into One City Place, Chester.
The company, which employs more than 10k people globally, secured 7,341 sq ft of space at the development to accommodate growth in its Chester workforce.
Having signed a 10-year lease for the office, Black & Veatch will undertake a fit out in the coming weeks.
The firm is the fourth business to sign up for One City Place – the first property in Chester’s £100m Central Business Quarter plan.
Phil Mayall, development director at Muse Developments, the company behind the scheme, said: “We are delighted to announce that Black & Veatch will be the fourth company to sign at One City Place.
“For years there has been a significant lack of commercial space available in the city centre in terms of floor size, quality, accessibility and location.”
He added: “Our recent lettings are demonstrating that One City Place is addressing this need and giving the business community of Chester, and further afield, options they didn’t have before.”
CBRE, a joint agent on the scheme alongside GVA, acted for Muse on the transaction. Savills acted for Black & Veatch.
City Place is part funded by a £4.8m North West Evergreen Fund development loan and a £1.4m European Regional Development Fund grant.
