Newcastle’s newest cocktail venue makes Sunday Times list

The Alchemist Bar & Restaurants have achieved 63rd place in this year’s Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies To Work For list, a new entry for the company which is in its sixth year since launching in 2011.

The Alchemist is a concept borne from the imagination of Living Ventures’ founder and CEO, Jeremy Roberts and the late Tim Bacon, and since launching in Manchester it has won the hearts of many.

Cocktails are served with theatre and panache and presented in vessels orchestrated to add a dash of magic. Changing colours, plumes of dry ice, nostalgia and hot and cold sensations all surprise and delight the guest, and a popular all-day dining menu keeps venue busy from morning until night.

The eagerly awaited site in Newcastle is due to open at the end of March and is located on Nelson Street.

The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies List is a survey used to measure the engagement of employees across the UK and only organisations with the highest level of overall employee engagement qualify.

It also celebrates companies with exemplary staff training programmes and The Alchemist, a Palatine Private Equity-backed company, is certainly no exception to this. Training is intensive and is at the heart of the business with particular emphasis on career progression.

Simon Potts, Managing Director, The Alchemist, said: “We are so proud to have achieved a place in the Sunday Times Best Companies List, a huge deal for us having launched just six years ago. We currently have nine venues across the UK with four more planned openings for this year so will be continuing to hire great talent and hope this win will continue to attract those people to join us.”
