BizSpace prepares for growth with senior HR appointment

BizSpace, provider of flexible business space throughout the UK, has appointed a new head of people and culture in preparation for its plans for high growth and a potential IPO.

Experienced human resources professional, Samantha Hill, joined BizSpace in early 2017 in the newly created role.

Samantha will be responsible for designing, leading and implementing people strategy within the organisation, which has more than 200 employees across 100 sites throughout the country.

Her initial focus will be on the creation of the strategy, as well as implementing a new HR system, and reviewing all current training areas in line with the new brand.

Samantha commented: “This role really appealed to me because of the strong culture of BizSpace, along with the opportunity to continue developing a full people strategy.

“This is a perfect time to join the organisation and to implement important systems as BizSpace prepares for intensive growth. It’s vital that all staff, both existing and new, are fully on board with the company’s vision for the future.”

BizSpace’s commercial director, Emma Long, added: “As we prepare for an IPO, it’s more important than ever that our staff embrace our culture and values and realise that they are the cornerstone of what makes BizSpace great.

“We welcome Samantha to the team and are looking forward to creating a strong and imaginative people strategy.”

Samantha has 10 years’ professional experience in HR, having previously worked as HR director and HR manager for a major international events and exhibitions firm, as well as working as HR business partner for the Football Association.

BizSpace is known as ‘the place small businesses call home’. In 2015 it was purchased by Värde Partners, a global alternative investment adviser. Värde has ambitious growth plans for BizSpace over the coming years, with the aim of growing the company via acquisitions and new development sites, as well as investing in facilities and refurbishment of current business centres.
