Healthcare business acquires Ilkley site to develop new care home facility
Oakapple Group has sold part of its mixed-use development in Ilkley to Springfield Health Care.
The growing healthcare company, which has its head office in Leeds, has acquired the land on Mayfield Road in Ilkley, to develop a 77-room care home facility.
This deal is part of Springfield Health Care’s ongoing expansion alongside similar schemes in Beverley, Harrogate, Leeds and York.
Completion of these projects will see Springfield’s portfolio grow to 560 rooms across five locations by early 2018.
In addition to the 29,801 sq ft care home, Oakapple Group is developing approximately 30,000 sq ft of office space on the site.
Demand for the office accommodation is strong with a 9,000 sq ft pre-let to SmartSearch already in place .
Philip Taylor, Oakapple Group’s chairman, said “We are delighted to have completed a sale of part of the site to Springfield Health Care and expect to make a further announcement on a second significant pre-letting of the offices shortly.”
Construction of both the offices and care home will start this spring.
