White Rose Shopping Centre’s expanded leisure lineup completed with Five Guys and Limeyard

The ongoing expansion at White Rose Shopping Centre is now fully let as Five Guys and Limeyard have agreed deals to take the last units.

The 65,000 sq ft extension, which is due to fully launch in Autumn 2017 with the dining offers opening in July, features six restaurants, an 11-screen IMAX Cineworld multiplex, outdoor event space, and bespoke play area.

Limeyard’s White Rose outlet will only be its third outlet to open in the UK, and first in the North.

The restaurant chain, which was acquired by Cote Restaurants in January 2016, will offer an all-day American kitchen in a 3,100 sq ft restaurant with an additional 700 sq ft mezzanine.

Five Guys has signed for the final 3,800 sq ft unit in the scheme, which is part of its UK expansion strategy. In addition to Limeyard and Five Guys, the leisure scheme will introduce Wagamama, Chiquito, TGI Friday’s and Pizza Hut.

The two recent deals come shortly after the announcement that Next is investing £6m into the centre for the opening of its Yorkshire flagship store.

Rob Jewell, portfolio director at Land Securities which owns White Rose, said: “We’re proud to announce that White Rose’s leisure extension is 100% pre-let ahead of schedule. Five Guys and Limeyard are exceptional additions to the scheme as we extend our leisure offer and develop our night-time trading.

“These signings complement the centre’s sought-after dining mix, like Pizza Express, Handmade Burger, and Nando’s, and add a new dynamic to the full-day out experience for White Rose customers.

“This is a defining and active time for the centre, and we have no plans of slowing down with practical completion and the extension’s launch in the coming months.”

Alex Scrimgeour, CEO at Côte Restaurants, added: “Signing Limeyard at White Rose’s leisure extension directly aligns with our UK expansion plans to secure space in leading centres – we couldn’t be more excited about this deal.

“The leisure extension has garnered a lot of attention in the region and the market and Limeyard is proud to be a part of this positive development in Leeds.”

JLL acted for Land Securities, whilst Central Retail acted for Five Guys and Limeyard represented itself.
