The organisation driving digital connectivity standards in London sets sights on another European capital

WiredScore, the London and New York-based organisation that has driven digital connectivity standards at buildings such as the Empire State Building and The Shard, has opened an office in Paris to bring its Wired Certification scheme to the French capital.

Operating in London since 2015 in cooperation with the Greater London Authority, the organisation grew out of a collaboration with the City of New York and then Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, to promote world-class digital connectivity and infrastructure in new building projects and refurbs.

Now the certification is launching in Paris and has already granted 14 buildings and planned projects across Greater Paris a Wired Certification, equating to around 4m sq ft of commercial space.

This includes the Duo Towers in the 13th arrondissement, Green Oak in Arcueil and a Haussmann building in the Golden Triangle.

Its certification system helps to benchmark buildings based on their levels of connectivity, scoring properties based on digital infrastructure, high-speed broadband access and other factors, with four levels of certification in Platinum, Gold, Silver and Certified.

London currently boasts 21 WiredScore Platinum buildings, including marquee properties such as 200 Aldersgate and the Leadenhall Building.

Heading up WiredScore’s French operations will be Managing Director, Tamara Brisk, who said: “A recent WiredScore poll indicates that, according to 48% of French executives, internet connectivity will become as important a factor in choosing workspaces by 2027 as price.

“We are therefore delighted to enable our clients, key players in commercial real estate, both French and international, to become leaders in their field.

“This massive investment in the certification program demonstrates that connectivity has become a key issue in the service sector and I am confident that this trend will only continue.”
