Former England rugby star completes conversion from fly-half to corporate FX trading

FX services firm Moneycorp has welcomed a former professional rugby player to its senior team following the England star’s retirement from the game last year.

Former Leicester Tigers fly-half, Andy Goode, will join the company as Head of Strategic Sales where he will be charged with developing Moneycorp’s network of corporate and high net worth individuals who are looking for support with their FX payments and foreign exchange risk.

The London-headquartered firm, which expanded into Romania, Spain, Gibraltar and the USA last year, said it has experienced significant demand for its foreign exchange risk services since last year’s EU referendum, with firms and individuals looking to weather sterling’s ongoing volatility.

Following the new high-profile appointment, Mark Horgan, Moneycorp’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “Andy is an exciting addition to moneycorp’s team and brings a wealth of FX knowledge from his time spent working and living overseas.

“Over the years, Andy has built an impressive network of contacts across the globe, and we look forward to utilising these relationships to achieve our ambitious expansion plans, both overseas, and here in the UK.”

Goode, who will be working within the Corporate International Payments team at the firm, added: “Foreign exchange has always been a keen interest of mine and, when it comes to the specialist sector, moneycorp is one of the biggest players in the game.

“In my role, I’ll be actively developing relationships with new and existing corporate clients, whilst helping to further raise the business’ profile on a global scale.

“The fast-paced environment of moneycorp is not too far from that of the rugby pitch and, whilst I’ll be continuing with my punditry work and media obligations, during the week I’ll be focusing on a different type of conversion.”
