Bellissimo! Leeds’ favourite family Italian restaurant reopens

Italian zest is back on the menu as Salvo’s reveals its brand-new look

Salvo’s, Leeds’ longest running family-run Italian restaurant, has reopened its doors after a quarter-million-pound refurbishment. The new-look restaurant interior, new menu and dedicated bar area has refreshed the much loved Headingley Italian, opened by Salvatore Dammone in 1976.

The newly revitalised restaurant celebrates its 40th year on Otley Road with a new, pristine contemporary bar area serving a wide range of craft beers, great Italian wines and classic cocktails. Guests are welcome to relax before their meal or just enjoy a drink and an Italian bite.

The award-winning eatery is known Yorkshire-wide for its Italian flair and fantastic food! Mr Dammone’s sons John and Gip are now the driving force behind the passion project to bring southern Italian hospitality to Leeds.

Renowned for its innovation, Salvo’s serves up a wide-range of contemporary Italian food in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere, a simple formula which has kept thousands of foodies coming back for more. The restaurant has been the only one listed consistently in The Good Food Guide since 1985 and holds an AA Rosette amongst a collection of national accolades.

“When my father opened Salvo’s in 1976, he had a vision of bringing a piece of his beloved Italy to Leeds,” said John Dammone. “Five decades later, we’re excited to build our family’s vision and ethos of serving authentic southern Italian food.”

Gip added: “In order to create something lasting, we know that you must adapt and grow and our refurb is the exciting next step. It’s going to be a great time for us here, welcoming guests, old and new, into our new restaurant to try the new menu. We’re very proud of the new look and can’t wait for you to let us know what you think!”
