Durham vehicle charging business reveals London expansion
Durham-based Elmtronics is growing its electric vehicle charging business beyond its native North East, opening a new office in the capital.
According to the company, 50% of its enquiries and installations come from the South, meaning the additional premises will allow the firm to speed up response time for clients in demand of its charging solutions.
Dan Martin, Elmtronics Commercial Director, explained: “We are very fortunate to be a part of a lively and booming industry. Our London office is the first stage to grow our UK network, we want to make our services easily accessible to our customers in the South.
“We believe the London base will strengthen our position as one of the UK’s leading electric vehicle charging specialists.”
Founded in 2014, the company operate from a head office in the North East, home of production for the 100% electric Nissan LEAF and are approved installers for the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV), workplace charging scheme, in which companies can now apply for funding towards charging stations.
Martin Hale, Head of Sales and Marketing, UK and Ireland, EV Charging Infrastructure, ABB, added: “ABB is the world leader in EV rapid charging offering the value, quality, high uptime and remote control, necessary to operate an effective EV charging network.
“As a world leader, we only work with companies that can reflect our high-quality standards to supply, install and maintain our rapid charging stations of which Elmtronics are a perfect example.
“Their move to the South will further grow our relationship and increase their position in the industry. We want to wish them the best of luck in their new venture and look forward to our continued success together.”
