Manchester’s Evergreen Life launches new app to drive ‘people-powered healthcare’
Healthcare firm Evergreen Life has launched a new NHS-approved app to put patients’ medical records at their fingertips.
With the Evergreen Life app, the Manchester-based company’s aim is to create a “people-powered healthcare” – enabling patients to download their medical information, book appointments with their GP, place orders for repeat prescriptions and access test results.
Evergreen Life said the software also allows users to share their information with health professionals, carers and family members.
Since its launch, over 50% of GPs across England have linked up to the app through EMIS, a system GPs use to manage patients in a practice.
Evergreen Life is expecting to have rolled the app out nationwide in the next two months, which will include integration with the two other major patient management systems used in England.
Stephen Critchlow, chief exec of Evergreen Group, said: “Our aim is to revolutionise the healthcare sector by putting the power back into patients’ hands.
“Every patient has the right to ask their GP for access to their own medical records and it is now extremely easy to manage this information through our new app.”
He continued: “Users will then have full control of their healthcare, fitness and wellbeing in a way that has never before been possible. We are helping people to take control and empowering them to live healthier lives. We also want to eliminate the hours spent on the phone, sending lengthy emails and wasted trips to the doctor’s surgery.”
Speaking further, Stephen said he believes the Evergreen Life app will save GPs and the NHS both time and money.
He added: “By giving its approval for this app, the NHS is demonstrating a commitment to creating more effective ways of storing and sharing records and results.”
Evergreen Life forms part of Manchester-headquartered social impact and sustainability firm Evergreen Group.
