Tottenham Hotspur stadium update: Upper tier of new North Stand takes shape

Construction at Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur’s new £800m stadium continues apace, with new images released by the club showing that one of its new stands is already beginning to take shape.

According to the North London club, the steel work for their new stadium is already being put in place with the general outline of the new North Stand’s upper tier already visible as work progresses.

So far work has focused on the North, East and West stands at the ground, with construction on their massive 17,000 seater, single tier South stand will not begin until demolition work has begun on their current White Hart Lane home.

Uncertainty still surrounds when exactly that might be, with Daniel Levy leaving the possibility open that the club may remain at their historic home for another season, despite developments at Brent Council which look set to green light up to 31 full-capacity Spurs games at Wembley for the 2017/18 season.

Once opened, the new 61,000 capacity ground will be the biggest in the capital with its well-documented high-end hospitality packages and, the Tottenham hierarchy hope, a big-name corporate naming partner emblazoning the new stadium.
