CyLon introduces participants of fifth cohort

Cyber London (CyLon) (https://cylonlab.com), Europe’s first dedicated cyber security accelerator announced today, the eight security start-ups participating in its fifth programme. CyLon, which fosters a thriving home-grown community of cyber security companies in the heart of London, has already successfully accelerated 31 companies since its launch in April 2015.

CyLon’s cyber security accelerator consists of a three-month programme where entrepreneurial teams with innovative and disruptive business ideas are provided with access to expert training and guidance from an accomplished network of mentors and investors to bring their product to market. At the end of this programme, the companies will present their businesses to prospective customers, investors and partners at an Investor and Customer focused Demo Day. In addition to an intensive curriculum of training, mentorship and access to a fully-furnished office space, the teams selected to participate in the programme will receive a £15,000 investment in their businesses in return for 3% equity.

The fifth cohort includes companies from across 6 countries ranging from very early stage teams, through to established companies seeking support to launch their business in the UK as they seek to accelerate development and reach new customers and markets. The participating teams are:

Kirsten Connell, Managing Director, CyLon, said:

“We continue to be impressed with the quality of applications for CyLon and now, after two years and more than 30 companies having been accelerated, we are thrilled to see what this new cohort has to offer. In a time of constant threats and with cyber security finally becoming a priority for business and consumers alike, it’s exciting for us to see the next generation of security companies in the UK.”

Richard Wilding, Director of New Ventures and Innovation at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence, and Cylon platinum sponsor said: “No company, no matter how big or how small, will be able to solve the global issues surrounding cybersecurity. It is not a single threat, it’s a concern for all of us which must be part of a mainstream discussion rather than an afterthought. CyLon help foster innovation at the early stage of business development and ensure that cyber security solutions developed by creative, small players are progressed, through creating better connections across industry. Our continued partnership with CyLon has played an important role in our broader innovation programme which develops technologies for BAE Systems’ defence and security customers.”
