Durham storage firm secures future with land acquisition
Durham-based Advanced Handling and Storage Ltd has bought an additional 1.8 acres of land in the region to fuel its growth plans.
Established in 1996 by entrepreneur Chris Moody, the company specialises in the provision and installation of new and used storage and handling equipment for industrial units, factories, warehouses, shops and retail outlets across the UK.
The business, which has grown to employing 20 people and has a turnover of £2.4m, secured funding from Barclays in order to complete the land acquisition, which stands adjacent to existing premises at All Saints Industrial Estate, Shildon.
Chris revealed: “We’ve steadily grown the business organically and are now operating across the UK. Developing new premises will enable us to expand our operations providing us with more storage space and the option to introduce new lines.
“It’s great that Barclays were able to help fund the new site which will help secure the future of the business and take us to the next phase of our growth plans.”
Michael Watson, Barclays Business Relationship Manager put together the funding package for the deal.
Michael said: “It’s great to be able to support a local business that is thriving and expanding for the future and contributing to the local economy. Chris and the team are experts in their profession and the future looks bright for this ambitious business.”
