Tottenham Hotspur stadium update: Work begins on North West corner as bowl takes shape

New images released by Tottenham Hotspur of their new stadium development have revealed the new ground’s bowl structure taking shape as work begins on the new South West corner.

The aerial images show the North, East and West stands reaching towards their upper tiers giving fans a better idea about how the £800m stadium will look once it is completed.

Work on the final piece of the puzzle, the new ground’s South Stand, will not properly begin until the Premier League club have officially confirmed their departure from White Hart Lane, at which point the North London club’s historic ground will make way for their new home.

A key focal point of the development, the South Stand will be the biggest kop-style stand in the country, packing 17,000 seats into a single tier.

It is still assumed that the club will play all their home games at Wembley Stadium next year with a key decision by Brent Council expected today, despite the club hierarchy remaining cagey about whether this season will be their last at their current ground.

According to the latest images released by the club, construction looks to be on track with the development set to be completed in time for the beginning of the 2018/2019 season.
