MSIF backs Liverpool-based niche recruitment company

A recruitment agency specialising in healthcare, HR and construction has launched in Liverpool with the help of business funding provider MSIF.

Talento Limited, based on Edmund Street, was established by recruiters Brian McGlynn and Andrew Coyne alongside businessman Michele Dematteis.

Andrew Coyne heads up the firm’s healthcare arm, which recruits for roles such as senior managers, care managers, registered nurses and support staff across domiciliary, residential care and nursing homes.

Since its launch, Talento has worked on building relationships with key care providers both nationally and locally.

Brian McGlynn is leading the company’s HR and construction divisions. The HR team will recruit for professional roles across businesses ranging from SME to blue chip.

The construction team, meanwhile, will hire for professional and executive appointments, including foremen, site managers, project managers and quantity surveyors for companies in the building, civil engineering, housebuilding and highways sectors.

A loan from MSIF was used to support Talento with its startup costs, which included securing premises and investing in IT and staff.

Michele Dematteis commented: “We’ve invested heavily in the best talent and the best recruitment software on the market which will enable us to quickly and accurately match prospective candidates with our clients’ resourcing needs.

“Andrew, Brian and the team each have over ten years’ experience in recruitment and extensive knowledge in their respective sectors which has enabled us to secure some large customers that will require continual support with hiring new staff.”

He continued: “I’ve worked with MSIF before with other businesses I’ve been involved in. They provide a smooth process and are quick to make their investment decisions. I’m really happy to work with them again and have them on board as an investor.

“Our focus now is to continue to attract experienced staff to our own team and branch out into other sectors. We aim to take on another four staff during the next year.”
