Ben Sherman chooses Liverpool for first flagship store outside London

British clothing company Ben Sherman is opening a new flagship store at Liverpool ONE.

Grosvenor Europe, which owns the retail and leisure complex, said the fashion brand will occupy a 1,755 sq ft unit on Manesty’s Lane from the beginning of April.

As Ben Sherman’s first full price store outside London, the boutique will stock the company’s full range of clothing and accessories.

David Basterfield, retail director of Ben Sherman, said: “Choosing the right locations for exclusive stores outside London is crucial.

“Liverpool ONE stood out as an opportunity: the brand complements our own, we are joining one of the strongest line-up of fashion and accessories retailers in the country, and Liverpool ONE continues to outperform.”

Miles Dunnett, director of portfolio management at Grosvenor Europe, commented: “The arrival of Ben Sherman, the first store of its kind to open outside of London’s West End, is another example of Liverpool ONE’s position as one of the leading retail and leisure destinations in the UK.

“The strong British heritage of the Ben Sherman blends with Liverpool ONE’s other iconic retailers and is a great addition to the mix.”

Property firms Metis Real Estate Advisors and Cushman & Wakefield represented Liverpool ONE in the transaction, while Ben Sherman dealt direct.

Ben Sherman is the latest in a string of fashion brands to sign new deals at Liverpool ONE, with Hollister having launched its latest store concept on South John Street, and JD Sports and Superdry currently preparing to open their new regional flagships at Liverpool ONE this year.

Two other brands, American clothing retailer GUESS and fast food chain Five Guys, will debut at the complex in time for summer.
