Together named best for buy-to-let mortgages

Specialist lender Together has been named ‘Best Buy-to-Let Mortgage Provider’ at the Property Wire Awards 2017.

The inaugural awards from the global property news service were held last week, celebrating excellence and recognising the current and future champions of the industry; focusing on leaders that are shaping the evolving buy-to-let sector.

Marc Goldberg, Together’s commercial CEO, said: “We are delighted to have won this award, acknowledging the strength of our buy-to-let offering as this sector continues to grow.

“Buy-to-let has faced a number of challenges recently, including the stamp duty hike and the cuts to mortgage tax relief, yet investors remain undeterred, and continue to see UK property as a sound long-term investment. Instead, many have adapted their business models to take the various changes in their stride and overall the market has proved resilient.

“At Together, we saw strong growth in this sector last year, with our annual lending on buy-to-let products up 44 per cent on the previous year, and we envisage that this positive performance will continue.

“This award also highlights the dedication of our colleagues, whose extensive knowledge and expertise is a major factor in ensuring we can consistently deliver the best outcome for our customers, even in very complex cases, working in partnership with our brokers.”

Together has made a host of changes to its buy-to-let product range over the past 12 months, including lowering rates, increasing loan sizes, removing the maximum age limit and introducing new rates for expats to invest in UK property.

The business has a current loan book of over £2 billion, with total annual new lending in 2016 at just under £1.1 billion.

Based in Cheadle, South Manchester, Together works with a large network of intermediaries, and offers short-term finance, auction finance, residential, commercial and buy-to-let mortgages, and secured loans.
