Kier award Actavo with player’s village contract

The UK’s fastest-growing modular construction company*, Actavo | Building Solutions, has been appointed by Kier to help deliver a highly prestigious offsite construction project in Eastbourne.

Actavo will work with Kier, who is delivering the Devonshire Park project, to provide a new, two-storey, players’ village to ready for the Aegon International Eastbourne tennis championship in June 2017. On site works started in January 2017 and will be completed in May 2017.

The development comprises open space areas for fitness training, changing areas, showers, WCs and a platform lift for disabled access to the upper floor. The new facility is designed to provide an environment conducive to relaxation for the players while off court, this is evident with generous ceiling heights, a lounge area with views across the courts and high quality fixtures and fittings.

Customers find them a faster alternative to traditional construction methods because modular allows facilities to be constructed in half the build time so they’re operational faster.

Mono-crystalline PV panels and a high efficiency mechanical heating system will reduce energy consumption of the building. The full height glazed curtain walling will provide full visibility across the grass courts and Actavo’s concrete floor solution will give a robust and durable feel to both ground and first floor which will be used by the ATP world tour players.
