Trattoria 51 to host Day at the Races

In line with the city’s Grand National celebrations, Trattoria 51 is getting set to host its very own ‘Day at the Races’.

The popular Old Hall Street restaurant will host a three-day celebration between April 6-8, ideal for both racegoers and the general public alike.

To kick-start their day, guests can giddy-up with a celebratory breakfast before trotting across the road to Moorfields Station to catch a train to Aintree, then return in the evening for a winning dinner. Those not heading to the racecourse need not miss out, as they can enjoy a slice of the action on a large screen in the venue’s upstairs bar.

Restaurateur Attilio Sergi said: “As one of the city’s most loved annual occasions, Aintree Races continues to attract crowds on an impressive international scale. Year on year we like to mark the three-day sporting event with a Prosecco breakfast, however this time we want to go full circle and provide both pre and post-race day merriments.

“Having recently re-established our 51 Prosecco Bar, which now dominates the entrance of our downstairs floor space, the atmosphere of the venue has shifted slightly to offer a more upbeat social drinking vibe to further our stance as being an authentic Italian drinking and dining destination. With that in mind, we will provide the perfect race-day pit-stop for celebrations amongst friends, family and work colleagues. What’s more, our handy location is just a stone’s throw away from the Old Hall Street entrance of Moorfields Station, making the race to and from Aintree so much easier.”

Breakfast will be served from 8:30am and includes a free bottle of Prosecco with every five full breakfasts per table. In addition to the Full English with Scrambled Egg or a Scotch Egg, alternative options include Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict and Vegetarian Frittata – all of which will be served with Italian Illy Coffee.

‘The Big Finish’ at Trattoria 51, served from 5:30pm, includes a free dessert with any two-course dinner. As opposed to traditional set menus, guests can choose from both the A La Carte and Specials menu.

Attilio added: “Our Grand National breakfast and dinner celebrations aren’t just confined to Aintree racegoers, those wanting to tune into the television coverage can do so here with us to enjoy an adrenaline-pumping atmosphere.

“Whether guests are visiting for breakfast, dinner or simply a drink or two, we hope to get the day off to a winning start and triumphant end.”

The Grand National celebrations will take place a Trattoria 51 between Thursday, April 6 -Saturday, April 8. Breakfast is served from 8:30am and is priced at £9.95 per person and includes a free bottle of Prosecco with every five full breakfasts per table. Dinner is served from 5:30pm, whereby guests will be treated to a free dessert with any two-course meal.
