Fishtank Creative nets prestigious Creative Pool Award
Mirfield-based digital design agency Fishtank Creative has won the prestigious Creative Pool People’s Choice Web Award at this week’s annual event, for its online work with Leeds-based company The Big Blue Swim, a leading provider of luxury and bespoke swimming holidays.
The award, which was presented to Fishtank Creative by Cameron Temple, Creative Director at Stink Digital, is for the agency’s work for its client The Big Blue Swim to create a complete online presence for the Greek specialist swimming holiday company.
To create the new online home for The Big Blue Swim, Fishtank Creative used Perch CMS along with a completely bespoke site, which reflects the vibrancy and culture of the unique holiday experiences offered to The Big Blue Swim’s customers.
The award has been achieved in a highly competitive industry and category and the work has been recognized above sites for EuroNews and Karen Millen. Over 20,000 unique votes were cast for this year’s Creative Pool People’s Choice Awards from across the creative, digital and marketing industries. The judging panel for the Creative Pool Web category included the CMO of Wix and the President of the West Coast division of Razorfish.

The Big Blue Swim - which was founded in 2011 by Athens-born Michael Koumbouzis and his partner Lisa Stansbie, who run their business from its head office in Leeds - has been listed in The Guardian’s ‘Top Ten Swimming Holidays of the World’ and has also featured in numerous travel articles worldwide. It specialises in adventure swimming holidays in Greece, offering experiences that are fully immersed in the culture and landscapes of the country and attracts swimmers from all over the world.
Since the new website was launched by Fishtank Creative for The Big Blue Swim, they have seen an uptake in bookings and, for the first time since it was founded, destinations were sold out by February for summer 2017. Enquiries have increased and there have been many positive comments about the integrated payment system now available to customers.

The award-winning site by Fishtank Creative for The Big Blue Swim integrates video, Instagram, blogs and many other features that were created with the company’s key target consumers in mind.
