Capita commits to Darlington for further 8 years

Business services giant Capita has sealed a long-term lease to remain at Darlington office space Lingfield Point for a further eight years.

Employing 450 staff at the site, Capita provides business process outsourcing and integrated support services.

The Darlington business park first welcomed the company in November 2015 and has grown from taking a 42,000 sqft space to its 340,000 sqft warehousing space today.

Anthony May, managing director of inbound services at Capita, said: “We are delighted to have made a long-term commitment to stay at Lingfield Point.

“This flagship site is a great base for our team, and we’re confident staying here is the right move.”

Dominic Moore, head of asset management at Clearbell, which manages the fund that owns Lingfield Point, said: “We are delighted that Capita has committed for a long period of time.

“The warehouses it occupies have historical relevance to Darlington and are now providing employment opportunities and workable business space to modern occupiers. Lingfield Point continues to evolve and Capita plays a key part in that.”

Tim Carter, director at Connect Property North East, added: “Its blend of location, accessibility to the transport network and customer-focussed approach is unlike any other business park.

“This coupled with the site’s excellent broadband connectivity and infrastructure upgrade is an irresistible combination.”

Eddie Humphries, estate manager at Lingfield Point, said: “One of the things that attracted Capita to Lingfield Point was our great facilities – and I’m sure that’s why the company chose to stay.

“They have found their perfect cultural match and as a service provider strongly identify with our own ethos of customer service delivered through our concierge service.”
