Former street food stars MEATLiquor secure tramshed site near Kings Cross

Gourmet burger brand MEATLiquor is to open its eleventh outlet after securing a former tramshed near Kings Cross Station.

The brand, which grew out of a successful street food operation, has agreed to take the 1,800 sq ft site at No.6 St Chad’s Place in London after working with property agents Shelley Sandzer to secure the property.

Featuring space for 90 covers, the new restaurant is on course for its opening this summer where it will join other operators nearby including Honest Burgers and Pizza Union. The eatery has also brought in Shed Design Ltd to mastermind the new outlet’s interior with a focus on retaining the building’s original features.

Once opened the venue will become the brand’s eight site in London since it opened its first permanent venue in Marylebone in 2011.

Co-Founder Scott Collins claims that the new restaurant will be a ‘truly original’ MEATLiquor venue, with the period features of the building presumably marking it out from the other eateries in its portfolio.

He went on the praise the property agent’s role in the deal and said: “Shelley Sandzer have excelled in helping us find this totally unique space in central London. They have been fantastic advisors throughout the whole process and securing this special building in such a major location is testament to their ability.”

Nick Weir, who is Joint Managing Partner at Shelley Sandzer, commented: “This wonderful, historic building is absolutely perfect for MEATliquor and we are thrilled to utilise our expert knowledge in securing it for them.

“Kings Cross is a buzzing location that benefits from both a busy station and a growing office population, as well as its reputation as a trendy area to live in. There is no doubt that the brand will continue to thrive in this new location and appeal to visitors and residents in the area.”
