Simon Jersey appoints business development manager
Lancashire uniform provider Simon Jersey has strengthened its team with the appointment of Mike Atkin as business development manager.
Mike’s role at Simon Jersey will be to grow its key account business with the acquisition of national and multinational customers. His aim will be to substantially grow this area of the company’s sales and further build the new business team.
Simon Jersey has a long history of providing bespoke uniform designs to some of the UK’s best known brands, including dressing Team GB for last year’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Mike will be looking to build upon this heritage and attract new customers to the brand.
He has more than eight years’ experience in apparel. He was most recently head of UK sales at Samurai Sportswear which produces bespoke sports clothing for teams such as Sale Sharks and Derbyshire CCC. While in the position Mike also developed a new retail range which will be available later this year.
He said: “It’s an exciting time to join Simon Jersey. The company has a long-standing reputation as a great workwear provider, but it has also proved it is not afraid to do things differently – such as dressing Team GB last year.
“I’m looking forward to building greater awareness of what we can do for brands in a wide range of business sectors and bringing new customers on board.”
Paul Farrell, sales director for Simon Jersey, said: “We’re thrilled that Mike has joined us, bringing with him both sales experience and a background in kitting out winning teams.
“He has already hit the ground running, organising some exciting meetings and reviewing how we promote ourselves to key account customers in the UK and beyond.”
Simon Jersey is one of the UK’s leading providers of uniforms for businesses of any size and in every sector. For more information about its services visit simonjersey.com
