Quantuma widens offering into risk management and investigations
Quantuma is expanding its advisory practice into risk management and investigations, with the appointment of new partner Mike Wright.
And in the process the business restructuring and recovery specialist, which has been primarily focussed on the south of England, is also extending its regional reach, launching what it hopes will develop into a strong presence in the north-west.
His arrival will be followed by others both in London and Manchester, and represents the beginning of a series of diversifications to make Quantuma a broader advisory practice with restructuring and insolvency at its heart.
Mr Wright, who has more than 20 years’ experience in risk management, corporate security and fraud investigations, will be splitting his time between London and Manchester. He specialises in a range of global risk mitigation services for clients within leading law firms, financial institutions, companies and investors.
These services include enterprise risk management, investigations, forensic accounting and digital forensics.
Mr Wright said: “The larger more complex, multi-jurisdictional assignments I undertake tend to come out of London. That is where I can add value on behalf of Quantuma.
“And this is likely to expand given the wider picture of Brexit, Trump in the US, increased regulation, fraud, cybercrime and other such factors.
“But equally Quantuma are looking to expand into the north-west and I will be their north-west face, the focal point of a growing team.”
He decided to make the move because of Quantuma’s fast-growing entrepreneurial advisory practice, its team ethos, its collegiate approach and the quality of the partners.
“They are looking to diversify, grow and develop, and know where they want to go,” he said.
Carl Jackson, Quantuma managing partner, said Mr Wright will bring a wealth of knowledge to the practice. “We are constantly building our footprint and offering, seeking to attract the recruits who can help us do that. London is very important to us and creating a Manchester operation will be a major step forward. “We have been impressed with Mike’s work where we have worked with him on previous appointments and we are confident he will make a significant contribution,” he said.
Mr Wright began his private sector career by leading the litigation support and investigation team at the north-west based firm Ellison & Gough. He established his own nationwide practice, GHW Corporate, specialising in consulting and investigations.
He sold the company in 2006 to a national corporate recovery practice, becoming a partner there.
Prior to going into business, he served for seven years with HM Forces in a wide cross section of disciplines, including anti-terrorism, specialist electronics and avionics research and development.
