Craft company eyes further retail expansion in Evesham

LEADING craft retailer, Crafter’s Companion, has unveiled its plans to open a third retail outlet following on from the success of its first two stores.

The new store is set to open near Evesham within The Valley retail complex in summer 2017 following final approval of the planning application and represents a further £270K investment into the company’s retail operations.

Working in partnership with The Valley’s management team, the outlet is expected to create 17 new job opportunities, bringing the total number of jobs created as part of the business’ ongoing retail expansion to over 70.

Sara Davies MBE, founder of Crafter’s Companion said: “We’ve had an incredible response to our first two stores from our customers across the UK. We wanted to build on this success and the opportunity to collaborate with The Valley is the perfect way to do this.

“The centre is really popular and its customers are closely aligned with our own, we hope that it’s the start of a great relationship.

“As with our Chesterfield outlet, the new store will be designed to be a community destination, where people can come to learn about craft, get involved with the brand and be inspired to get crafting. We’re really looking forward to watching the store take shape over the coming months.”

Once approved, the Crafter’s Companion outlet will join several other well-known brands in the centre including Fatface, Barbour, Mountain Warehouse, Cotton Traders, Pavers, Outdoor and Country, an extensive Blue Diamond garden centre and restaurant, the Evesham Vale Light Railway and the Valley Adventure Castle.

The company will be holding a recruitment day on Thursday 20th April at The Wood Norton in Evesham to find team members to work in the in-store coffee shop and outlet, including craft enthusiasts to lead craft workshops and demonstrations. Crafter’s Companion, which was founded in 2005, is now a national and global success. The business manufactures and sells craft products via its website, on TV shopping channels, through independent retailers and through in its own retail stores.

The company’s stores, which focus on education, enjoyment and inspiration, offer visitors the chance to explore themed shopping areas such as papercraft, art, sewing, knitting, home décor and haberdashery. Customers can also take part in workshops and classes in the dedicated education area and watch the products in action as part of live demonstrations.

The stores are designed to give both craft enthusiasts and people who are trying the hobby for the first time the opportunity to learn new crafting skills.
