Productive Work vs Food Habbits

Productivity is quite a mysterious thing. Some people’s productivity depends on the time of day, some people work better in a certain environment and some do their best when it’s completely silent around. It is fair to say, though, that the quality and quantity of food influence almost all people’s work outcome. Some products can truly improve people’s mood and solve health problems. Is it magic? No, it’s just chemistry.

Watching what you eat is important not only for those who want to lose or gain weight. Food provides us with energy and influences our mood and activity level. Different kinds of food can make you either irritable and aggressive, or energetic and productive. The following are several examples of products that everyone can add to a diet to feel healthy and happy.

Anxiety and nervousness - chocolate

When we worry much about something, the healthy food is the last thing we want to see. In the time of constant stress, it is difficult to control what we eat. Some chocolate, though, can be quite to the point, as sugar increases the level of serotonin and endorphin in our bodies, and these things are commonly known as the “happiness hormones”. Cocoa is the source of flavonoid that improves your mood and clears thoughts. To minimize the quantity of unnecessary carbohydrates, choose quality dark chocolate. And don’t eat too much of it, as it also contains caffeine, which can make you even more anxious.

Lack of sleep and overeating - protein and healthy fats

Those people who don’t sleep enough, usually eat a lot. It’s a scientific fact. An exhausted brain needs extra feeding, so it makes you crave a lot of carbohydrate food. Instead of that, you should include more protein to your diet: eggs, chicken, beef, sea food, etc. You can also add green vegetables, avocado and pumpkin seeds. All these products contain elements that help you produce serotonin; and if the brain is happy - you are happy and productive, too.

Problems with concentration - coffee

Well, everyone knows the effect of this drink - even one cup can wake you up and clear your mind. Be careful, though, as caffeine can cause addiction and the excessive amount of it can lead to insomnia and, weirdly, lack of concentration.

So, here goes the same advice as with the chocolate: don’t overdo it, please. And drink the quality coffee, too. Choose organic coffee, and try to replace milk or cream with coconut oil or soy milk. Actually, soy milk makers say that soy milk brings you much more energy than the regular one.

Feeling tired and blue - hazelnuts and tea

Nuts don’t only give energy to our bodies, but also provide us with a big number of important nutrients: manganese, calcium, magnesium, etc. Nuts also contain a lot of cellulose that helps our bodies produce neurotransmitter.

Tea is known for many years to have a relaxing effect on people, as well as making them more focused and well-spirited. The research says that when we are in the good mood, we are better in solving problems that require ingenuity and wit. And tea helps with all that.

Eat and don’t worry

There is a direct connection between what you eat and your mood. Bad mood influences our food habits. That’s why often what we see in our plates is the result of our achievements or failures both in personal and professional lives. Remember that you should be in charge of what you eat - not the circumstances. Eat good food, and you’ll feel and work better, too. And don’t forget to experiment - try different foods and see how it influences your mood. Maybe you’ll feel great after eating a bunch of apples, who knows.
