Made in Britain visits North East amid post Brexit manufacturing uncertainty

Shower designer and manufacturer Roman hosted the first North East Made in Britain marketing4manufacturers workshop this week.

Made in Britain supports and promotes British manufacturing, enabling buyers and consumers, at home and abroad to identify British made products.

Fast-growing Durham firm Roman has been a member of organisation, which has over 900 members, since it first began and MD David Osborne is on the Board of Directors.

Holding three half day marketing workshops in the North East, Midlands and North West, Made in Britain is endeavouring to help British manufacturers increase the effectivity of the marketing amidst much uncertainty at present surrounding Brexit.

The Department for International Trade and Lloyds Bank Manufacturing were also in attendance, presenting advice on exports and sales as well as demonstrating their new marketing tools designed to help UK manufacturers.

North East businesses also demonstrated their own products on the day, including the Eco Trailer from Cleveland in Teesside.

David Osborne, Managing Director of Roman commented: “It was a pleasure to be involved with the first Made in Britain event and the organisation’s aims and values have never been so important in our post Brexit climate.”

John Pearce, CEO of Made in Britain, added: “These inaugural events have come about as a result of direct feedback from our manufacturing members. UK makers have told us they want to meet other UK manufacturers. This allows them to source UK suppliers and share best practice in provenance marketing.”
