South Yorkshire Housing Association awards £1.8m contract extension to Nottingham building services firm

J Tomlinson Ltd, the building services company, has secured a £1.8m contract extension with South Yorkshire Housing Association.

This new contract comes after the company supported the Sheffield-headquartered organisation with its kitchen and bathroom replacement programme for almost three years.

J Tomlinson will now be undertaking a further £1.8m worth of upgrades and repair and maintenance work on properties across Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley and Rotherham.

Antony Newton, regeneration director at J Tomlinson, said: “J Tomlinson has worked on kitchen and bathroom replacements for South Yorkshire Housing Association properties since September 2014 and we are very pleased to have secured a two-year extension to continue the renovation and improvement programme being undertaken by the organisation.

“Our teams have wide experience in refurbishments of this type, and it is always pleasing to receive a contract extension, as it is an endorsement of the work already completed to date.

“We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with the housing association and to improving residents’ homes by updating and installing new kitchens and bathrooms, and carrying out other key maintenance and repair work.”

Nottingham-based J Tomlinson operates across South Yorkshire, the East Midlands and the West Midlands, offering a range of integrated building services which include construction, mechanical and electrical services (M&E), facilities management, refurbishment, repairs and maintenance and regeneration.

The latest contract extension for South Yorkshire Housing Association includes boiler installations, and kitchen and bathroom installations, which will be undertaken by the J Tomlinson’s repairs and maintenance and regeneration teams.

Mike Fisher, senior property services officer at South Yorkshire Housing Association, said: “We are delighted to have offered a contract extension to J Tomlinson following the successful completion of a programme of works over the past three years.

“Their teams have always acted professionally and represented SYHA brilliantly – we’re pleased that we’re able to use their skills and expertise in these areas to carry out improvement work in our customers’ homes.

“It’s clear from our customer satisfaction surveys that they are very happy with the quality of the work they carry out.”

South Yorkshire Housing Association provides homes and care for people across North, South and West Yorkshire, and across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. It currently owns and manages 5,687 properties.
