Barnsley contractor builds towards the ‘next level’ with new finance deal

CRS Plant Ltd, the Barnsley-based building contractor, has secured an agreement for a new working capital facility with Aldermore, the specialist bank.

The contractor, which provides groundworks, excavation and civil engineering service across Yorkshire and Lancashire, will use the new finance deal to establish itself as a specialist groundworks company in the region.

CRS Plant Ltd is divided into four areas including CRS Plant, which runs a fleet of plant machinery; CRS Future Build, which develops innovative new products for housebuilders; CRS Civil Engineering, which provides civil engineering expertise to the housing sector; and the soon to be launched CRS Safety and Training Services, which will provide training services to the construction industry.

Paul Senior, partner at CRS Plant, said: “Since it was established in 1997, CRS has come a long way, however we decided it was time to source external finance to lift the company to the next level.

“We hadn’t worked with Aldermore previously but received a referral and have been really impressed with the service we have received.

“The Aldermore team worked day and night and over weekends to provide us with the funding when we needed it.

“Based on our experience, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Aldermore to other businesses looking for a combination of flexibility and professionalism.”

Karen Allen, head of specialist finance at Aldermore, added: “Rather than taking a purely transactional approach, we always strive to build meaningful partnerships with our clients, so I am very pleased with the strong working relationship we have developed with the team at CRS over a short period of time.

“CRS Group represents exactly the type of ambitious fast-growing small business that Aldermore was created to support, so we are delighted to be able to play a small part in the company’s future success.”
