Barratt Developments North East celebrates tradespeople at Awards

To celebrate and give thanks to local subcontractors, North East housebuilder Barratt Developments, which includes the Barratt and David Wilson Homes brands, hosted its annual Partner Awards at Hardwick Hall in Durham recently.

The event applauded Barratt’s work with over 200 subcontractors throughout the region across a range of disciplines – which is an increase from the previous year.

On the night, 200 local tradespeople were in attendance from 30 different companies to recognise and celebrate quality workmanship in the North East. The Outstanding Performance Award for on-site was this year given to Brierley, which is based in Newcastle. Tony Austin, Site Manager at Barratt Developments, also received a special mention for 30 years of service and valued contribution to the business.

Funds were raised at the event for Barratt Developments North East’s charity of the year, the Alzheimer’s Society,

Scott Lester, Construction Director at Barratt Developments North East, commented:

“I want to send my congratulations to all the winners on the night and thank everyone for coming – it was a fantastic turn out. It is so important that we give recognition and honour the very best performing subcontractors and partners across all areas of the business, as well as celebrating the success of the developments they have supported us with. They are the cornerstone of Barratt and continue to help us produce five star quality developments.

“I want to also say a big thank you to everyone who generously donated towards raising funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. This money will help fund new research and provide support to loved ones affected by dementia.”
