Wookey Hole hotel tops family friendly list

The Wookey Hole hotel in Wells, Somerset has been named as one of the top 10 family friendly hotels in the UK by LateRooms.com.

Located onsite at the popular tourist attraction Wookey Hole Caves, the hotel placed at number 6 on the list compiled by the online booking site for its ‘Simply the Guest’ Awards 2017.

The awards are the only awards in the UK based purely on guest reviews. Around two million reviews were submitted by people who booked through LateRooms.com and completed their stay, and these reviews were used to determine the locations customers loved the most.

The Wookey Hole Hotel is ideally placed for families visiting the attraction as well as those wanting to explore the surrounding cities of Wells, Bath and Bristol.

Wookey Hole Hotel managing director, Daniel Medley, said: “We’re delighted to be named one of the best family hotels in the UK.

“It’s wonderful that this award comes from the customers who have stayed here, loved it and taken the time out to leave their positive reviews. We’re committed to providing a fantastic experience to our visitors.

“As well as the hotel, we have invested £3 million since last summer, buying a holiday park near the attraction to provide more accommodation.

“We are expecting to welcome 150,000 people to stay in the accommodation we provide this year, ranging from rooms in our hotel, luxury lodges, camping and caravans. We have moved into accommodation to meet the demand as people want to stay in Somerset.

“Hundreds of thousands of people flock to the historic caves every year, and our 20 indoor and outdoor attractions prove to be a great pull for families looking for entertainment, so onsite accommodation is vitally important.”

The Wookey Hole Hotel has 58 guest rooms including family and double rooms, superior and luxury rooms. Available year round for family holidays, short breaks, business trips and weddings and events the hotel offers free parking and WiFi and an in-house restaurant and stylish bar.

The Mendip View Luxury Lodges for up to six people include discounted tickets to the Wookey Hole Caves attractions. Overlooking the Mendip Hills, Wookey Hole village and the caves, the lodges feature outdoor hot tubs and decking areas as well as an open-plan living area and en suite bedrooms.
