BOFA International Wins Queen’s Award for Innovation
~~A Poole-based company that has grown from a one-man business to become the world leader in fume and dust extraction technology has won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise (Innovation) in its 30th anniversary year.
BOFA International has been awarded the prestigious accolade for the development of its Intelligent Operating (iQ) System, which is transforming the way that organisations around the world are able to protect the health of employees and improve production processes through more effective extraction of airborne contaminants in the workplace.
Tony Lockwood, Managing Director of BOFA, commented: “At BOFA, we are very proud of being a successful British manufacturer, and to receive this recognition in what is our 30th year is a fantastic achievement and testament to the hard work of everyone at the company.”
BOFA was launched in 1987 as a small family business and has since developed into a global technology leader, employing over 200 people at its Poole headquarters, with offices in Germany and the USA.
The company has led the way in the development of innovative fume extraction systems, winning multiple awards along the way – including receiving a Queen’s Award for Export in 2012 – and now serves sectors as diverse as laser, electronics, mechanical engineering, printing, 3D printing, medical, pharmaceutical, dental and beauty in over 100 countries.
The latest Queen’s Award for Innovation is acknowledgment of the impact of the company’s revolutionary iQ system, which has introduced performance enhancements, including independent filter status monitoring and remote data analysis, to improve extraction efficiency, reduce the risk of production downtime and lower the lifetime cost of technology ownership.
Says Tony Lockwood: “BOFA started as a family business and we have continued to thrive through investing in research and development, empowering our people and by delivering exceptional service to our customers. It’s a winning ethos that will carry forward into the next 30 years.”
