North East gadget repair service fixed for expansion across north of England

A North East gadget repair service is set to be rolled out across the north of England.

SmartFix, which was launched by Newcastle-headquartered Grainger Games in 2016 at its Benton store, offers specialist repairs of mobile phones, tablets, games consoles and handheld devices.

The SmartFix concession will now be introduced at 50 Grainger Games stores across the North East, North West and Yorkshire.

The current, walk-in service at the Benton, Berwick Jarrow and Cramlington stores, will also be extended in 2017 with plans to introduce a team of mobile, call-out technicians, who will carry out repairs at customers’ homes or places of work.

Jonathan Fellows, managing director at Grainger Games, said: “Phones and tablets, in particular, are an integral part of people’s lives and, crucially, businesses.

“If something goes wrong, they need a fast, reliable solution and that’s what we provide.

“And if customers can’t come to us they can just make an appointment by phone or through the SmartFix web page and a technician will repair their gadget on site, with the same expert service and reliability they would receive in store.”

SmartFix is currently recruiting and training apprentice technicians to help with the increased demand in their repair centres.
