Cocktail bar chain to launch second Leeds venue following £525k investment

Be At One, the national cocktail bar chain, is set to open a second venue in Leeds less than two years after making Northern debut just off Millennium Square.

Following a £525k investment, Bet At One will launch a new venue on Boar Lane on May 26th, creating ten new jobs.

Steve Locke, the bar chain’s co-founder, along with Rhys Oldfield and Leigh Miller, believes the opening of a second venue will help “introduce the party to a different part” of the city.

He said: “Millennium Square was out first site in the North, it was an obvious choice for us because of Leeds’ thriving independent cocktail scene and the City’s unpretentious attitude to fun.

“We were welcomed by the cocktail drinking fraternity and have enjoyed a fantastic two years here.

“When the opportunity arose to take another site on Boar Lane we jumped at it. The site is half a mile away between the train station and Trinity and allows us to introduce the party to a different part of town.’’

Each team member hired full time with Be At One is backed by £5k worth of investment to ensure they know the menu off by heart, and trained in the style of free pouring American bartending. Be At One features over 150 concoctions on its menu, such as the Singapore Sling and the Espresso Martini.

The chain’s first bar opened in 1998 in Battersea Rise, when Steve, Rhys and Leigh decided to take out car loans, buy the site of a run-down Indian restaurant and turn it into the inaugural Be At One venue.
