Newcastle Airport in the spirit after signing five-year partnership with The Lakes Distillery
Newcastle International Airport has been announced as a corporate partner of The Lakes Distillery.
The North-East airport has signed a five year corporate partnership that will see the distillery showcase its Best of British craft spirits and visitor attraction across the airport and social media platforms.
As part of the agreement, the distillery will help showcase the range of destinations available from Newcastle International, as the airport continues to grow its catchment area across the entire Cumbria region.
The partnership will also see the airport add to its commitment of using local suppliers, with The Lakes Gin being available for purchase in the airport’s World Duty Free store from April.
Dean Ward, commercial manager at Newcastle International Airport, said: “We are thrilled to have added The Lakes Distillery to our list of corporate partners. Having previously outlined our commitment to source local products, this new partnership, together with the listing in our World Duty Free store, further strengthens that pledge.
“This link gives us a great opportunity to engage further with the people of Cumbria – a very important region to us. With over 80 direct destinations available; we have the perfect platform for us to highlight the offering from Newcastle International Airport.”
Nigel Mills, chairman of The Lakes Distillery, added: “Our expansion and brand awareness continues to grow at such a strong pace with The Lakes Gin taking to the stage in World Duty free.
“It is perfect timing to join forces with Newcastle International Airport to work closely together driving the airport as the Gateway to Cumbria and The Lakes Distillery.”
