Ryanair announces two new routes with the launch of Newcastle winter 2017 programme

Ryanair has launched its winter 2017 schedule from Newcastle Airport, with two new winter routes to Faro and Madrid and 10 routes in total.

These new flights are expected to deliver 750,000 customers p.a. and support around 560 jobs at the airport.

The two new winter routes to Faro and Madrid will be conducted twice weekly, whereas winter flights to Tenerife will increase to three times a week.

Ryanair will also continue to connect Newcastle with major business and leisure centres on high frequency, low fare services including Dublin (two daily), Madrid (two weekly) and Malaga (four weekly).

Ryanair’s Newcastle summer 2017 schedule is attracting record bookings, with more frequencies to destinations such as its new routes to Barcelona Girona (two weekly) and Palma de Mallorca (daily).

Ryanair’s Robin Kiely said: “We are pleased to launch our 2017 Newcastle winter 2017 schedule, with two new winter routes to Faro and Madrid, more flights to Tenerife and 10 routes in total, which will deliver 750,000 customers p.a. and support 560 jobs at Newcastle Airport.

“These new routes are now on sale on the Ryanair.com website as we continue to grow our Newcastle traffic, tourism and jobs.

“We are also pleased to report record bookings on our Newcastle summer 2017 schedule and UK customers and visitors can look forward to even lower fares, so there’s never been a better time to book a low fare flight with Ryanair.

“We urge all customers who wish to book their holidays to do so now on the Ryanair.com website or mobile app, where they can avail of the lowest fare air travel to and from Newcastle.”

John Irving, business development director at Newcastle International Airport, added: “It’s great to see Ryanair continue to expand their operation out of Newcastle.

“We are delighted that both Madrid and Faro will now carry on through our winter 2017 schedule, meaning even more destinations are now available year-round for the north-east travelling public.

“With 10 winter routes now available, this is further evidence of Ryanair’s clear commitment to the region.”
