Manchester groundskeeping firm with over 50 franchisees acquired by US giant
US giant The Dwyer Group, Inc. has made its second foray into the North West with the acquisition of a Manchester groundskeeping company.
Texas-headquartered Dwyer Group, which last month snapped up Manchester home cleaning service provider Bright & Beautiful, is now the parent company of Cheadle Hulme firm Countrywide Grounds Maintenance.
Countrywide offers commercial grass cutting, landscape maintenance and sports ground maintenance along with winter gritting services.
The firm was co-founded in 1985 by Martin and Simon Stott, who have since grown the business from a family-run enterprise into a brand encompassing over 50 franchisees.
Countrywide is the 19th company to join the growing portfolio of trade services operator Dwyer Group, which now generates £1.2bn in sales across operations in North America, the UK and Germany.
Countrywide’s Simon Stott said: “On behalf of the Stott family and Countrywide team, we are so proud of the amazing franchisees who have helped to build the Countrywide network.
“I am confident that under the guidance and leadership of Dwyer Group, the future of this organization and our family’s legacy will continue to be nothing short of extraordinary.”
Dwyer Group CEO Mike Bidwell commented: “Countrywide brings three decades of experience in grounds maintenance to our organization and is a great fit for Dwyer Group’s growing family of service brands in the United Kingdom.
“We look forward to growing that presence and providing the best professional solution for landscape maintenance and management.”
