Local housebuilder teams up with York football squad

As part of an on-going effort to engage local children in the opportunities, the construction industry in Yorkshire offers, local housebuilder David Wilson Homes has partnered with Hampsthwaite School to help its students discover more about the development process in the area.

Forming part of the school’s changing environments work, the children visited the new Grange Park development that is currently being built in Hampsthwaite. As part of the visit, the children met one of David Wilson Home’s site managers, who spoke to the students about the housebuilding process and the importance of providing new homes for families in the area. David Wilson Homes’ Grange Park offers a premium collection of luxury new three, four and five bedroom homes and is currently selling properties from The Pastures sales office in Knaresborough.

Steve Mattinson, Construction Director at David Wilson Homes, comments: “It’s really important to engage with young people and highlight the importance housebuilding and other development work is to the local community. Many of these young children will look to buy homes in the local area in years to come, so it’s our responsibility to ensure they understand just how important it is to build new communities, which offer a high quality of life and sustainable credentials for the next generation.

“Despite being primary school age, the children were really interested in the development and had a good understanding of the positive impact new homes would have on the local community. Hampsthwaite is an excellent school and we’d like to extend our thanks to the head teacher Mr Phoenix and his team for helping us to inspire and introduce our work in the community to its local children.”
