Sourdough pizza brand Radio Alice to open second site in Clapham
Pizza restaurant, Radio Alice, has announced it is to follow up its debut Hoxton restaurant with a new venue in Clapham, due to open later this year.
The brand, which has developed a menu of sourdough pizzas, has taken a 2,000 sq ft unit on the former Gastro site opposite the Clapham Picture House at 67 Venn Street.
Opening in June, the venue will boast 80 covers internally and 40 covers for al fresco dining along with interiors of distressed walls clad with sheet metal and reclaimed furniture from Bologna.
Following confirmation of the new venue, Salvatore Aloe, co-founder of Radio Alice, said: “This prime location is exactly what we wanted - community is central to the Radio Alice ethos and this is perfectly reflected in the close-knit feel of the Clapham neighbourhood.”
Radio Alice worked with property agents Shelley Sandzer to secure the Clapham venue, and Casey Phillips, who is partner at the firm, said the ‘well-established’ restaurant offering in the area made it a good fit for the burgeoning sourdough pizza brand.
He added: “Clapham is a great location for Radio Alice’s new home, and in particular Venn Street, which already benefits from al fresco dining and is soon to be pedestrianised.
“The street is a well-established restaurant destination and Radio Alice will be in good company alongside Honest, Venn Street Records and The Picture House Cinema. The site was historically a staple favourite with local residents, and we are certain Radio Alice will continue this legacy.”
