Local Community History Month Celebrates Norris Green Transformation

Homebuilder Countryside is kicking off Local and Community History Month (1st - 31st May) by celebrating huge success at its award winning NGV Liverpool development, which has played a crucial role in the rejuvenation of Norris Green.

Launched in 2011 and forming part of Liverpool City Council’s £200m regeneration of the area, the past 12 months have seen over 100 house hunters secure their new homes. This means that almost 90% of the development has been completed or reserved - including a mixture of open-market and private rental homes - with only 90 homes left to sell on the open-market.

The circa 50-acre suburban scheme is being developed by Countryside in partnership with Liverpool City Council and, residential property and urban regeneration specialist, Sigma Inpartnership Limited to transform the area from a largely derelict 1970s housing estate into a vibrant and welcoming neighbourhood.

The Lewisham Road development has received a warm welcome from local residents and Countryside has formed strong relationships with the community, including ongoing health and safety initiatives with the local primary schools.

Stephanie Gough, Head Teacher of Monksdown Primary School in Norris Green, commented: “The transformation of NGV Liverpool has brought with it significant benefits to the local area and its residents. It’s been wonderful to witness what was once a run-down area flourish into a thriving neighbourhood that families can grow within.”

Peter Vella, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at Countryside, added: “We’re now in the fourth and final phase of the development and I’m immensely proud of the contributions that we have made towards building and establishing a close-knit community that has grown in popularity year-on-year. Having scooped a number of awards in recent years, NGV Liverpool has truly raised the bar for regeneration projects in the region.”

Once complete, the development will comprise 829 two, three and four bedroom homes, each with high specification interiors and are available through the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.
