Major refurb sees Ribble Valley-based Breda Murphy Restaurant double in size

A restaurant in the Ribble Valley has opened its doors following a major refurbishment that saw it more than double in size.

Breda Murphy Restaurant, located on Station Road in Whalley, underwent a four-month transformation that included the creation of a 400 sq ft two-storey extension and a new basement-level kitchen for delicatessen and outside catering.

The investment also saw a glazed floor dining area with capacity for 20 guests added to the venue.

Breda Murphy Restaurant’s previously unused first floor, meanwhile, is now a private dining area with 34 covers and its own bar, service kitchen and washrooms.

At ground level, the new Reilly’s Bar will offer a menu of Irish spirits, including Irish Dingle gin, Silver Spear gin and Irish cream liqueur Coole Swan Superior.

Restaurateur Breda Murphy said: “Our reputation has been built on our consistent levels of high quality food and service.

“To accommodate our growing fan base, we have created a larger restaurant. We are now also open for three evenings a week, Sunday breakfasts and Sunday lunches.”

Gareth Bevan, head chef at Breda Murphy Restaurant, commented: “It’s been exciting shaping the new menus. We feel that we bring something different to the Ribble Valley – especially with our warm, Irish welcome.”

Speaking further, Breda said: “The Ribble Valley is blessed with a plethora of great restaurants so it is important we keep investing and innovating.

“We are delighted to have completed the project and look forward to welcoming our loyal followers. This is an exciting new chapter in our story.”
