Leeds United takeover to be completed within two weeks, Andrea Radrizzani claims
Italian businessman and Leeds United co-owner Andrea Radrizzani has confirmed that he expects to take 100% control of the club within two weeks or less.
During an interview with Sardinian newspaper Corriere della Sera, Radrizzani reportedly said: “Within 10 days, at most two weeks, Leeds will be 100% (mine).”
Radrizzani acquired a 50% stake in the club from Massimo Cellino back in January.
At the time it was widely believed that Radrizzani, who is the co-founder of media rights group MP & Silva, will take full control over Leeds United in the summer.
MP & Silva, which is an international sports agency that provides media rights distribution, digital and technology services, and sponsorship consultancy, has offices in Singapore and London.
Since the EFL Championship season had finished, in which Leeds finished in 7th place, it has been reported that the duo have held talks about Cellino selling his remaining shares in the club to Radrizzani in a quick deal.
Cellino first took charge at Leeds United in 2014 when he purchased a 75% stake in the club from Gulf Finance House.
During his tenure at the club, Cellino has dismissed a total of six managers and received several suspensions by the Football League for off-pitch incidences.
