Cheadle Hulme firm Translation People to open second German base

The Translation People’s 10th year in business has got off to a bumper start, with the Cheadle Hulme-headquartered firm recording double-digit growth in Q1.

During the first the months of 2017, the company’s revenues leapt 28% in comparison to the same period in 2016.

Germany was the The Translation People’s biggest overseas market, delivering a year-on-year revenue increase of 150%.

As a result, the firm plans to open a new German base, following on from the 2010 launch of Bonn-based The Translation People GmbH, which also serves clients in neighbouring Switzerland and Austria under the leadership of operations director Jasmin Schneider.

The company’s second German office will cater for clients across the south east and Bavaria.

The Translation People GmbH managing director David Nichols said: “Our business has been building successfully in Germany for a number of years now, and the creation of a new company there was a logical extension as we take on bigger clients.

“Replicating a successful strategy in France, this approach in Germany means we are in a better position to provide a more flexible, efficient, tailored and personal service to our clients.”

He continued: “We will be investing to increase our German operations and staff numbers over the coming months in response to our growing customer base.”

The Translation People has an international network of almost 4,500 translators, having added 235 in 2016 in response to an increasing demand for its services.

In February, the company reported record £4.5m revenues for 2016.
