Everton FC strike new deal with longtime partner Chang
Everton FC have struck a new three-year agreement with beer company Chang.
The community partnership signed this week (May 9) will kick off from June 1, following on from the conclusion of the Thai company’s main partner deal.
As part of Everton’s continuing relationship with the firm, the club will participate in a series of community programmes and initiatives both in Thailand and Merseyside.
The activities will include further development of the Chang Junior Cup, a competition aimed at assisting grassroots development for players and coaches in Thailand.
EFC will also continue supporting the work of the Thaibev Academy in Bangkok as it nurtures young football talent.
Chang first teamed up with the Toffees in 2004 when it became their main shirt sponsor. The deal was subsequently renewed on five occasions.
Everton CEO Robert Elstone said: “The enduring success of our partnership with Chang is based on a set of shared values and a deep and genuine friendship between the two organisations.
“I’m really pleased that we will be continuing to work together with a clearly defined focus on community – something which is incredibly important to both organisations.”
He continued: “I would like to thank Chang for everything they have done for Everton over the last 13 years and for the commitment they have now made to support the communities both in Thailand and Merseyside.”
Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi, the president and chief exec of Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, which owns the Chang brand, commented: “Chang’s long-standing partnership with Everton, which began in 2004, has always been based on a shared passion for great football, and a common desire to serve the wider community.
“To now have our friendship develop further, with a much sharper focus on the community, is indeed very heartening for everyone.”
