Sheffield-based Dialogue Group acquired by Swedish firm for £32m

Yorkshire mobile messaging and security services firm Dialogue Group Ltd has been snapped up by Swedish cloud communication company CLX Communications.

Sheffield-based Dialogue, which has additional offices in London, Singapore and Sydney, was acquired for £32m as part of CLX’s strategy to access key markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

The deal has also added a raft of additional mobile operators to CLX’s Tier One Super Network, which currently boasts over 200 carrier partners.

Dialogue co-founder and CEO Hugh Spear said: “I am delighted that we have finalised this deal, further building on CLX’s already impressive growth and the way this transaction leverages our strong position in APAC.

“It will provide our customers access to the largest Tier 1 network in the industry and further improve quality, reliability, and security of our service.”

He added: “It gives our employees the opportunity to grow in an exciting and ambitious company.”

The transaction marks the fourth acquisition for CLX since its IPO in 2015.

The president and CEO of CLX Communications, Johan Hedberg, said: “The acquisition of Dialogue is the next natural step in executing on the strategy we outlined at the time of our IPO.

“Dialogue is one of the leading global mobile messaging and secure communications companies, with a particularly strong Tier One network in the Asia-Pacific Region.”

He continued: “Integrating them into the growing CLX family will strengthen our customer base in the UK and Australia plus add Tier One operator connections in New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Cambodia, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, and Egypt.”
