PK Education achieves world-leading ISO 9001:2015 standard
Recognising that quality and continuous improvement is at the heart of the business, supply teacher agency PK Education has been awarded the world-recognised ISO 9001:2015 standard.
The accreditation is the culmination of a 24-month business improvement journey, which has seen the company re-brand and embark on a mission to change the reputation of the recruitment industry by introducing a code ethics to distance itself from sales-based agencies.
By achieving the standard, PK Education has demonstrated that quality management across its four offices in Newcastle, Sheffield, Nottingham and Birmingham, is now completely integrated and aligned with its business strategy. More importantly, ISO 9001:2015 actively demonstrates that PK Education is meeting the needs of its teachers, support staff and schools.
Prior to gaining the ISO 9001:2015 standard, PK Education held the 2008 standard which was revised by the awarding body ISO (International Organization for Standardization) in order to meet the needs of today’s business world. The company has achieved the transition to the 2015 standard well in advance of the mandatory date of September 2018 which has been set by ISO.
ISO 9001 is the world’s most recognised management system standard and is used by over a million organisations across the world. The 2015 standard replaces the previous 2008 standard and has been described as a ‘game changer’.
Karl Housley, Managing Director of PK Education, said: “We are extremely proud to have achieved the ISO 9001:2015 standard in recognition of our strong quality management system that we have in place. It gives all our clients and candidates the reassurance that we consistently meet our customer and regulatory requirements and we are driven to enhance our customer satisfaction through a process of continual improvement.”
The company was guided and mentored throughout the process of achieving ISO 9001:2015 by business management consultant Geoff Robertshaw. He said: “It was nice to work with such a committed management team on their journey towards ISO 9001:2015.”
Karl added: “A special thank you must also go to Geoff Robertshaw, who not only guided us but was a mentor throughout this process and offered outstanding and clear advice at every stage.”
PK Education was established in 2005 in Sheffield and has since become one of the leading teaching agencies with offices now in the north east, and the East and West Midlands. More than 40 staff are employed across its offices, matching supply teachers, cover supervisors and teaching assistants to roles in schools, pupil referral units and educational establishments every day.
