Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge conquered by Princes charity volunteers
A team from food and drink group Princes has successfully completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and raised £15,000 in aid of a children’s hospice close to its Liverpool head office.
On 4th May, the team of volunteers tackled the 24 mile-long walk and climb covering the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in the Ribble Valley.
Princes operates its largest UK soft drinks production site in Bradford.
The team’s participation in the Challenge enabled it to raise over £15,000 for Wirral-based Claire House Children’s Hospice which provides specialist nursing care and emotional support to seriously and terminally ill children and their families.
Mark Church, Group Corporate Relations Director at Princes said: “This was a gruelling challenge for our team of volunteers, but every one of them had a fantastic experience and is delighted to have played a part in supporting such an incredible cause. We are very proud of them and of our colleagues who encouraged them in the build-up and sponsored them.”
Beth Pochin, Corporate Fundraiser for, Claire House Children’s said: “We are hugely grateful to the entire team at Princes for supporting us with this initiative, not only to those who so generously took the significant time and effort to undertake the challenge, but also everyone who has donated to the cause. They have all helped to raise invaluable funds to enrich the lives of those who depend on the love and care of Claire House Children’s Hospice.”
Claire House’s staff includes nurses, physiotherapists, play specialists and counsellors. It currently supports approximately 400 families from across Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales, West Lancashire and the Isle of Man and has recently acquired a second site in Liverpool.
