Family run business expands in Hull with funding from Barclays
A Hull-based, family run business has announced expansion plans with the purchase of new premises after securing funding from Barclays.
Matt (Vinyl Graphics) Limited, which was established in 1975 by sign writer Matt Nicholson, has completed the purchase of Unit 6 at Stonetec Industrial Park, Hull.
The business specialises in vinyl graphics on commercial vehicles, trailers and signs.
Sons, Luke and Shaun, are now active directors of the business which has expanded to include work on cars, interior and exterior signs and banners and labels for exhibitions.
Luke Nicholson, director of Matt (Vinyl Graphics) Limited, said: “Purchasing the new premises has been a major step forward in our growth plans and will enable us to increase capacity with more office and workshop space.
“We can now work more efficiently with several vehicles in the workshop at any one time and we’ve also been able to invest in new machinery to speed up our service. Barclays support has been brilliant – it’s great to have a bank that truly understands your business.”
Matt (Vinyl Graphics) Limited employs eight people locally and will be adding to the team in the future with an apprenticeship place. Turnover for the current year is expected to exceed £400k.
Danny Scarr, Barclays business relationship manager put together the funding package for the deal.
He said: “It’s great to be able to support a local business that is thriving and expanding for the future.
“Luke and Shaun are continuing in their father’s footsteps, investing in the business, helping the local economy and creating jobs for the future. We look forward to seeing the business grow with the new capacity the premises have created.”
